Top 10 Companies With Unanswered Complaints

There is a satisfaction in handling complaints when you’re able to get the complaint resolved, but there are a high percentage of complaints that we can’t get resolved because the company won’t even respond to our requests.  And, because we’re not a governmental agency, we have no power to force any company to respond.  We rely on businesses accepting their responsibility in the matter when contacted by us as an unbiased third party and on their recognizing the value of good customer relations.  However, we do report the outcome of the complaint in our public reports.

Here are the top 10 companies last year (2009) with the highest number of unanswered complaints (to the right of the company name):

1

Smile Bright

383

2

Google Treasure Chest.com

210

3

Google Money Profits

187

4

Global Payday Loan, LLC

184

5

Firstline Security Inc

105

6

Bromalite

73

7

Ultra Green Lean, LLC

67

8

Clickincome Inc

49

9

Lose Weight Systems

48

10

Mentoring of America, LLC

48

Of these, seven of the companies sell their products or services by using trial offers (teeth brightening, make money using Google, or weight loss products) for under $5.00 and then, in the terms and conditions, state that there will be a monthly fee charged to whatever form of payment the customer used, if the service is not cancelled in a short period of time, usually 7 – 14 days. Customers don’t see or read the terms and conditions and often end up paying out hundreds of dollars before they realize that the company is withdrawing money monthly.

McCrea Heating Co. I had McCrea install the heat pump at my home in Burtonsville Maryland. Since they did a good job, I entered into a maintenance contract with them over the years to maintain the pump in good operating condition. In the meantime, I purchased a home insurance plan on all of my appliances. Since I had the home appliance insurance plan, I did not renew my contract with McCrea. My complaint is this - when the heat pump broke down my home insurance plan refusew to cover the repair due to McCrea not maintaining the pump as was agreed to in their maintenance contract. I had to pay $400 to get the pump repaired due to their negligence. I do not recommend them. Thank you.

Smile Brite again.....followed all the return policies and never refunded. thought I was spending $3.95, after getting my credit card number they charged me 89.95 which has yet to be refunded..I signed an agreement to a 45% restocking fee online twice to get the difference back and after 25 days it still isn't there but I was charged another 40.00 on something called "I build WEalth" having the same bank code as Smile Brite which I didn't order and had to get the bank to help me reclaim it ...crooks for sure..beware here

Becky, Our report is online, http://www.bbb.org/utah/business-reviews/training-program-companies/ecommerce-consulting-in-salt-lake-city-ut-22244087, they have a B- rating with us and 6 complaints, as of today - April 14, 2010. Ratings can fluctuate day to day. As with any offer for training the BBB suggests that you receive the offer in writing and make sure that all guarantees are read and understood. Find out what the refund policy is and understand exactly what you would have to do to receive a refund if requested. DO not be pressured. Take time to make sure this offer is right for you. The BBB offers the following tips on companies offering training (this is general information - not specific to any company): • What is the reason you are looking to be taught? A goal of huge profits is not a good mindset. • Does the company offer a guarantee of profit or monetary gain as a result of their training. Not everyone can succeed, what if you do not make a profit, will the company give you a refund? If yes, get that in writing from the company. • How long will the company be offering the training services to you? How many training/coaching sessions are in the program? What if you are not able to make what you’re promised – is there a refund or more training? • What is the company’s policy on refunds? Read the entire contract to see if there are any conditions on a refund (only within 3 days, only if all classes have been completed, etc.). • What type of compensation/refund is provided if you are unable to complete the program due to medical reasons? • Are there any fees that are not outlined and described in the contract and sales pitch? What are those fees? • What does the average consumer pay for the entire program and how long does it take to complete? • What percentage of consumers complete the program? • What type of payment is accepted. Credit cards offer some protection if the company does not live up to their contract. Good luck with your endeavors – thanks for using the BBB.

Another scam I've had experience with is Google Cash Detective.....they charge $1.95 for information I never received which is supposed to be a disk telling me how to move forward with. Now, I've never received anything from them. I called my credit card company and they tried to charge me 59.95$ monthly. My credit card suggested I cancel the card and they would send me a new one. . Next I got a call from Ecommerceconsulting.com. out of Salt Lake City. This company says they are ligit that they pay G Cash Detective for marketing leads. These guys spend at least 8-10 hours with me trying to get me to give them my credit card so the could set me up with a trainer who could set me up with a web site and show me how to become a 'power-seller' on Ebay.....I don't know if they are legit or not but I am very skeptical............can you tell me what is going on. They have a BBB rating of B+ witih 5 complaints but I am still wary.

Does 'for sale by owner' have any complaints against it. I was considering using there program to list my property.
